I work with models!

I have learned that I work best with models even though they can be moody at times. Over the weekend I've done a few updates/additions to my model. I really like the direction it's going!

Game of Operation, Anyone?

I am currently making revisions to my model. I feel like I'm playing an intense game of Operation. I'm just waiting for the annoying buzzer to go off! Take a look. See if you agree.

Perspectives?

This is my first attempt at perspectives. I have two more to go... due tomorrow by 11:00 am. I'm really happy with the way it turned out. I know it needs more detail, but it's a start.

Is that made out of plastic bottles?

The answer is yes! This is from an artist's website. She makes these curtains/room dividers out of plastic bottles. They are custom made when ordered.

They're pretty sweet!

Plastic, Plastic, Everywhere!!!

I've been doing some research on products that use recycled plastic bottles. I have found tons of information. However, I wanted to take a second and refresh my memory of how many plastic bottles are used on a daily basis.

The United States goes through 2.5 million plastic bottles every hour and only a small percentage is recycled.

Enough plastic bottles are thrown away each year in the United States to circle the earth four times.

Plastic Bottle Arch

I found this really cool sculpture made of plastic bottles. I'm sure this could be some sort of exhibit in my project.

It's Good!

There is a quote we keep saying in studio and I can't get it out of my head. So, I'm blogging about it.

There is a little chipmunk/squirrel/furry little animal in the movie Enchanted. He says "It's good!" But he says it with a funny little accent and sticks out his hand. I know it's random, but we've probably said "It's good!" about 50 times today in studio. Enjoy laughing at us. It's crunch time so we're all a little delirious!

Details, Details, Details

Here are just a few of the details I really like for structure, especially for my public outdoor space.

Putting SUPER in Super One!

This weekend, I made a trip to Super One.... I made some kickin' chili! On my way out of the door, I found a fun surprise. I saw a plastic bag and bottle collection area. I was doing flips on the inside!!!

This is a good start... this makes me so proud. Look at Super One movin' up in the world! In honor of this momentous occasion, I made a fun picture!

Notes

For the past couple of days, I have been flipping through The Green Studio Handbook .

I've jotted down some ideas and notes. (My "notepad" was rather large, so I took pictures of them.)

Drawing Practice

During my meeting with my committee members before Christmas break, it was suggested that I draw without picking my pen up. This is a lot easier said than done. Here's my first attempt. The crazy thing is that I actually know what some of it is. lol! Stay tuned for more.... this isn't the only one you'll see!

Happy New Year!

Christmas break is now over... so it's time to start rockin' & rollin'. I am posting my schedule until midterm. I have a lot of work to do in a short amount of time. Hopefully I will be able to get it all done.
